However, we understand that there may be occasions when you feel that the level of service has fallen short of your expectations. We value your feedback and take complaints seriously as an opportunity to learn and improve.
If you have a complaint, we encourage you to let us know as soon as possible. We aim to address all complaints promptly, courteously, and in a manner that resolves the issues raised. It is not necessary to involve solicitors to make a complaint, but you are free to do so if you wish.
Please make your complaint in writing by letter or email to the Operations Director, who will be responsible for handling your complaint. To ensure an effective handling of your complaint, please provide the following information:
Your contact details, including name, address, and email address (if
applicable)
Your role (client, instructing solicitor, or other)
The name of the staff member you are complaining about
The nature of your complaint
Details of what the staff member was asked to do and what happened or did not happen
The steps you would like to see taken to resolve your complaint
Once we receive your formal complaint, the Operations Director will explain how it will be handled. We strive to maintain flexibility in our process to accommodate different circumstances. In general, the process works as follows:
Acknowledgement: We will aim to acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 7 days, providing you with details of how it will be addressed. If further information is needed, we may request it from you.
Investigation: Within 14 days of acknowledging your complaint, we will inform you that a Complaints Investigator has been appointed. We will also provide you with the expected date by which we aim to send you their response, following a thorough investigation. Typically, this response will be sent within 14 days of the Complaints Investigator's appointment. If there is any delay, we will notify you promptly and provide you with the new expected date.
We are committed to resolving your complaint to your satisfaction and addressing any issues raised. If your complaint extends beyond service issues and involves allegations of professional negligence or serious misconduct, we may suggest referring it to the Bar Standards Board.
